Pet portraits created through a digital painting service provided on my sister site, “MyDigitalPainting.com.” These all come under the “sketchy portrait” category. I work quickly using broad, loose brush strokes aiming mainly to capture a good likeness but without overworking it to retain the energy and excitement of the initial stages of a new piece. Customers submit a photo and then I draw these by hand, using a graphics tablet and simulated paint. Not just limited to pets – they have just been the most popular so far. Once I feel I have captured the character, I finish the piece with a background wash of a colour to compliment the subject. I aim to provide personal artwork at an affordable price. Evolving on a traditional portrait format using modern media and a smaller scale to speed up the process and reduce cost to something anyone could have in their home. Ideally mounted in a simple rustic frame.
